Insurance

Your wines should be properly insured, and you need to go through your insurance policy with extra care, so that you understand exactly what is covered. Typically, household policies do not cover fine wines.

Bordeaux City Bond is supported by the financial strength of Vinexpo and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bordeaux and that help us to provide you with enhanced insurance that covers the full replacement value for any wine damaged or lost during the day-to-day operation of our cellar.

When the wines enter the warehouse, we request a valuation (your own valuation or commercial invoices). Those could be updated every month.

We also provide assistance with monthly valuation of stock, which will automatically be passed on to insurers and updated on to the policy. This is an invaluable element of Bordeaux City Bond service.

In the case of sinister, the value for reimbursement would be :
The Value of the wines mentioned on purchase documents, invoices or declared by the customer (an up to date could be realised every month – last valuation is used) or/and market prices from wine merchants market of Bordeaux, the day of the sinister. The value retained would be the one the most favourable to the third party/customer.

In the extremely unlikely event of a major catastrophe, which results in all stock being destroyed, a supplementary insurance would be requested.
  • If you had one, we will signed up an AGREEMENT FOR THE MUTUAL ABANDONMENT OF CLAIMS.
  • If not, you may benefit from our contract according to the following terms :
